The Next Door Recovery To Host 22nd Annual Fall Luncheon, “Light for a Lifetime”

The Next Door Recovery

The Next Door Recovery will host its 22nd Annual Fall Luncheon, “Light for a Lifetime,” at St. George’s Episcopal Church on Sept. 15 at noon. The annual event brings together community leaders and advocates to celebrate TNDR’s positive impact in Tennessee while raising money to support the evidence-based, faith-informed treatment provided for women navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

The luncheon will feature national speaker, podcast host and bestselling author Rebekah Lyons and a performance by GMA Dove Award-winning Christian group Point of Grace.

“We are excited to bring the community together for this year’s Fall Luncheon and honored to welcome Rebekah Lyons and Point of Grace for a meaningful afternoon centered on faith, hope and healing,” said event co-chairs Dione DeWitte and Shea Ghertner. “This year’s theme, ‘Light for a Lifetime,’ is inspired by the promise of John 8:12: ‘Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life,’ a message that reflects the hope, healing and enduring support at the heart of every client’s journey at The Next Door Recovery.”

TNDR will also present the Jesus Calling Award to Anna Thornton, former chair of the TNDR board, in recognition of her outstanding dedication and impactful service to the organization and the women it serves.

“Our Annual Fall Luncheon celebrates our volunteers and the incredible courage of the women we serve as they step into a community full of love, light and support,” said Rachel Morris, executive director at The Next Door Recovery. “The generosity of our sponsors and donors at the Annual Fall Luncheon directly supports our programs that empower women for a lifetime of recovery.”

In 2025, TNDR served 1,282 women across 97 Tennessee counties, including 132 women who were pregnant upon entry and 1,077 mothers whose recovery impacted the lives of 1,813 children. Proceeds from the Annual Fall Luncheon help bridge the cost-of-care gap, ensuring that our clients can access medically monitored detox, residential and outpatient treatment, family services, prenatal care, and reentry programs regardless of their ability to pay.
